IV. New Business
A. Plant Swap: June Morris stated that plant swap last April was a real success and, at that time,
the Committee had decided to hold the plant swap every spring. However, the Committee is now
holding the annual tree giveaway. In addition, she felt that the plant swap was a success mainly
because Ron Schiebler brought all the plants. June Morns suggested that the Committee consider
skipping the plant swap this year and discuss it again at the first of next year. The Committee
agreed.
B. Gardener Position: Susan Dunham informed the Committee that the City is looking at the
possibility of hiring a contractor to maintain the garden areas and the sprinkler systems. This is
due to cost efficiency and the lack of any candidates applying for the gardener position.
The Committee discussed the idea of planting perennials in the garden areas. June Morris will
measure and draw up plans for Seminole and Atlantic, the five-way stop, city hall and the police
station. The Committee will discuss at the next meeting what to plant in these four areas to replace
the annuals.
V. Announcements/Reports
Susan Dunham advised the Comrnittee that the Commission is looking at the possibility of planting
trees on Seminole Road.
