PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
MARCH 26, 1997
A regular meeting of the Board was held Wednesday,
March 26, 1997 in the Adele Grage
Community Center meeting room. Chairperson Dezmond Waters called the meeting to
order at 7:20 PM.

The Board reviewed the minutes of the last regular meeting and
dEd Waters motion carried.made a
motion to approve them as written. Mary seconded and t
Dezmond informed the Board that the Board must make budget recommendations at this
meeting.
Allen informed the Board that the City has hired a part-time person to open and close the
restrooms.
Patricia feels the Board should recommend converting public works into a gym,
connecting the parks (Park linkage), kiosk in Russell Park, purchase land near Donner
and Russell Park.
Ed recommends maintenance personnel, purchase of park land and part-time tutor at
Donner Park.
Mark recommends the Board look at what is taking place in each park, then come up with
budget recommendations.
Mary made a motion to purchase any land available for park land up to $40,000. Ed
seconded and the motion carried.
Patricia made a motion to hire an assist for the Recreation Director. Mary seconded and
the motion carried.
Overall the Board made the following budget recommendations:
