If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Tree Conservation Board with respect to any matter considered at the above meeting, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based. MINUTES OF .,, TREE CONSERVATION BOARD July 31, 2002 A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Board was held Wednesday, July 3 1, 2002, in the City Hall Conference Room. Present were Barbara Mears, William Permenter, Carol Rockwood, Maureen Shaughnessy, Building Official Don Ford and Recording Secretaay Susan Dunham. 1. Call to ;Order The meeting was called to order at 7:09 p.m. - 2.Recognition of Visitors None. 3. Approval of Minutes of Meeting of July 10, 2002 A motion was made by Board Member Permenter, seconded by Board Member Shaughnessy and unanimously carried to approve the Minutes of the Tree Conservation Board meeting of July 10, 2002, as written. 4. Old Business A. Historical Tree Ordinance: A motion was made by Board Member Permenter, seconded by Board Member Shaughnessy and unanimously carried to defer this Agenda item until the next Tree Conservation Board meeting. ,,# B. Possible Locations for Tree Planting: Discussion was held with regard to Ahern Street. Building Official Ford advised that he spoke with the City Attorney and they determined that there was nothing in the Tree Ordinance that would prohibit cutting into the concrete on Ahern, Street for planting islands. Building Official Ford advised that approximately six parking spaces would be lost by planting trees on the north side of Ahern Street. Board Member Shaughnessy expressed concern that residents might drive over new plantings.. Building Official Ford stated that they would approach the property owners about irrigating and maintaining newly planted trees: Board members recommended Sturdivant and Mayport Road as possible locations to plant trees. Building Official Ford requested that the Board members look at these two areas and look for other areas that might need trees. C. Tree Removal Application Form: A motion was made by Board Member Rockwood, seconded by Board Member Permenter and unanimously carried to defer this Agenda item until the nett Tree Conservation Board meeting. 5. New Business None. G. Reports and Announcements: Building Official Ford advised that they have found that approximately 17 protected trees have died in the Hidden Paradise subdivision. He advised that the- Building Department would handle the dead trees during the final inspection and that mitigation would be set at 100 percent.
