07-20-92 v TREE CONSERVATION BOARD
Minutes of Meeting of July 20, 1992
The Board met for its regular meeting on Monday, July `G,
in the Commission Chambers, City Hall. Present were:
Carolyn Woods, Chairman John Weldon, Jr.
Hope Van Nortwick
Carl Walker, Coordinator George Worley, Designee
Guests: Stanley & Dorothy Jones, property owners
Carolyn Woods called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm.
The first order of business was to review the tree removal
application for property located at 2066 Beach Avenue. The
plans call for removal of 13 trees (1 palm, 11 oaks, and 1
magnolia) . Mr. & Mrs. Jones were present to discuss the
plans/application with the Board.
Mr. Jones, the property owner, prepared the tree survey. It
was expressed by Carolyn Woods that the plans did not cor-
relate with the actual site. Hope Van Nortwick shared this
opinion. Considerable discussion took place as to whether or
riot the site plan was acceptable due to the possibility of
error.
A great deal of deliberation followed and ultimately it was
agree that the Jones would keep a number of trees, so marked
on the plans, to compensate for those being removed. Hope
Van Nortwick moved to accept the plan, as marked, with the
understanding that George Worley, as designee, would verify
compliance with the provisions of the plan. John Weldor,
seconded and the motion passed.
John Weldon advised that no progress had been made in re-
drafting of the proposed amendment to the Tree Ordinance.
The minutes of the last regular meeting of June 15 and the
special meeting of July 13 were reviewed. John Weldon made
a motion to accept both sets, as written. Hope Van Nortwick
seconded and the motion unanimously passed.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned by Caro-
lyn Woods at 8:40 prn.
Respe fully submitted,
IllikJo I W 1don, M ".
