If any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Tree Conservation Board with respect to any matter considered at the above meeting, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based. MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TREE CONSERVATION BOARD May 28, 2003 A regular meeting of the Tree Conservation Board was held Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Adele Grage Community Center. Present were Chair Barbara Mears, Bill Permenter, Maureen Shaughnessy, Building Official Don Ford; and Susan Dunham. Absent were Tom Hill and David Owens. _.____ 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 9:@~ p.m. 2. Recognition of Visitors None. 3. Approval of Minutes of Meetings of May 3, 2003, and May 14, 2003 A motion was made by Board Member Shaughnessy~~sec~onded by Board Member Permenter, and unanimously carried to approve the Minutes ofthe Tree Conservation Board meeting of May 3, 2003. - A motion was made by Board Member Permenter, seconded by Board Member Shaughnessy, and unanimously carried to approve the Minutes of the Tree Conservation Board meeting of May 14, 2003. ._ k... 4. Old Business None. ,,.~ 5. New Business• A. Tree Removal Applications: 1. 645 Aquatic Drive: The Board addressed this item later in the meeting since the applicant was not present. 2. 32012"' Street: Ms. Kate Dickson introduced herself. Chair Mears advised that the trees proposed for relocation required no mitigation. A motion was made by Board Member Shaughnessy, seconded by Board Member Permenter, and unanimously carried to allow the relocation of a 13.5" palm, a 11.75" palm and a 14.75" palm, with no mitigation required. 1. 645 Aquatic Drive: The applicant was not present. Board Member Permenter advised that he spoke with the tenant who advised.him_that_the ownerhad given her permission to remove trees. Building Official Ford advised the owner was required to make application, not the tenant. A motion was made by Board Member Shaughnessy, seconded by Board Member Permenter, and unanimously carried to withdraw the permit application until the issue of ownership could be clarified. Reports and Announcements Building Official Ford advised that the bi-annual report of the Tree Conservation Board would be on the City Commission agenda for June 9, 2003. He requested that Chair Mears prepare a report and attend the Commission meeting. Discussion was held with regard to Champion trees. Board Member Shaughnessy asked about creating a system to ensure that mitigation trees were still alive after one year. Building Official Ford responded that he performs a monthly inspection. Building Official Ford informed the Board that the City Commission voted to change the term limits for all boards and committees to t<vo-year terms with a maximum of four terms. 7.
