04-05-93 v Cot TREE CONSERVATION BOARD Minutes of April 5, 1993 The Board met for its regular meeting on Monday, April 5, in the Commission Chambers of City Hall. Present were: John Weldon, Jr. Hope Van Nortwick Thomas Frohne Staff: George Worley, Designee Carl Walker, Coordinator Guests: Mike & Diane McConnell, John & Ellen Carter, Bill Wilson The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm by John Weldon, acting as Chairman in the absence of Carolyn Woods. The first application for Board review was for tree removal on property located at Lot # 53, Unit # 1, Oceanwa l k. Mr. and Mrs. McConnell, property owners, were present for discus- sion. After deliberation, Hope Van Nortwick moved to approve the plans with the exception that the Bay tree on the NW side of the house and the 10" Oak on the SW side, remain. If re- moved, replacement is required of two hardwood trees with a minimum of 3" DBH each. Tom Frohne seconded and the motion unanimously carried. Mr. & Mrs. Carter, property owners, and Mr. Wilson, builder were in attendance for the review of the application for Lot # 28, Unit # 2, Sevilla Gardens. With little discussion, a motion was made by Hope Van Nortwick to accept the proposed plans. Tom Frohne seconded; the motion passed unanimously. George Worley reported that the lawsuit on the Blackard pro- perty was not yet fi led although alternative negotiations had failed. Code violations will be heard by the Code Enforce- ment Board at their next meeting. Carl Walker mentioned the recently awarded federal/state grant that had been awarded in the amount of $4800 for tree planting purposes of: the grounds surrounding City Hall. The minutes were read and a motion made by Tom Frohne to ac- cept them as written. Hope Van Nortwick seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
