Minutes of Meeting of September 21, 1992
The Board met for its regular meeting on Monday, September
21, in the City Commission Chambers. Present were:
Carolyn Woods, Chairman Jim Pelkey
Hope Van Nortwick John Weldon, Jr.
George Worley, Designee Carl Walker, Coordinator
Guests: J. E. Gipson, Stephen Swairn, Andy Fuxa
The meeting was called to order by Carolyn Woods at 7:30 pm.
The first tree removal application for consideration was for
property located at 151 Ardella Road, Donner Subdivision.
Mr. Gipson, representing the property owners, was present to
explain the circumstances prompting the request to remove the
four (4) pine trees involved. George Worley, Designee, has
visited the site on several occassions.
Following considerable discussion, a motion was made by Jim
pelkey to accept the application as proposed. Hope Van
Nortwick seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mr. Swairn, property owner of Lot # 88, Unit # 1, Oceanwa l k,
was in attendance to discuss his request to remove three
(3) diseased oak trees from the lot. These trees were in
addition to those approved for removal at that location at
the Board meeting of August 17. John Weldon made a motion
to accept the proposal, as presented. Hope Van Nortwick
seconded the motion which unanimously passed.
Andy Fuxa, representing Centex Homes, was present for the
discussion of the application for tree relocation at Selva
Linkside 2 in order to create a water retention basin. Mr.
Fuxa answered a number of questions presented by the Board
and, following discussion, a motion was made by John Weldon
to table any action on the request until such time as a com-
prehensive tree survey of the entire property has been pre-
sented. The motion was seconded by Hope Van Nortwick and
additional discussion took place. When the vote was called,
the motion passed unanimously.
