CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA
Meeting of March 18 , 1991
Chairman Dezmond Waters called the meeting to order at
7 : 35 pm in the Parks and Recreation Nodular of the City
of Atlantic Beach. Present were :

George Worley, Designee
Carl Walker , Coordinator
Guests : Anita Brand, Property Owner
Mark Kredell , Builder
The Board reviewed the minutes of the last meeting and a
motion was made by John Weldon that they be accepted as
written. Sandra Sheppard seconded the motion which passed
unanimously.
Plans for tree removal at Lot #549 , Section 3 , Salt Air
subdivision were reviewed in the presence of the property
owner and builder , who answered questions from the Board.
After discussion, John Weldon moved that the plans be ap-
proved as submitted. Jim Pelkey seconded; the motion car-
ried unanimously.
The Tree Removal application for industrial property lo-
cated in the vicinity of 251 Levy Road was reviewed by the
Board. There was some discussion as to which specific trees
were to be removed on the property. A motion was made by
Carolyn Woods for granting approval of 6 pine trees to be
removed with a provision that all precautions be taken to
protect 3 other trees not approved for removal . Sandra
Sheppard seconded . After considerable discussion, a vote
was taken and the motion unanimously defeated .
Sandra Sheppard then moved to approve 8 trees for removal
to be marked on the plan. Carolyn Woods seconded; the
motion passed unanimously.
George Worley presented an additional application which had
been received at the Building Department today ( March 18 ) .
It covered tree removal at Lot #11 , Selva Linkside . The
Board reviewed the plans but were unable to make a decision
due to the incompleteness of the application and lack of
sufficient documentation. The application was noted "Re-
turning because of incomplete application. See Section B . "
There were no further applications for Board consideration.
Sandra Sheppard asked that George Worley check on the pro-
gress of the two locations mentioned in the minutes of the
last meeting to ensure that there were no violations to the
applications passed by the Board or the qualifications that
were placed on the plans .
It was brought up that the current Tree Ordinance called
for an annual election of Board Officers . The present
officers were appointed/elected at the February 1990 meet-
ing . It was moved by John Weldon that the annual election
of Officers take place during the first meeting in February.
Sandra Sheppard seconded the motion; it passed unanimously.
After discussion, it was agreed that new officers be elected
at this meeting. After nominations , the following were
unanimously elected to office :
Chairman Carolyn Woods
Secretary Dezmond Waters
Carl Walker was asked to make notification to the proper
personnel at City Hall of the change in officers . With no
further business to conduct , the meeting was adjourned by
Chairman Waters at 9 : 20 pm.
