12-16-91 v TREE CONSERVATION BOARD
Minutes of Meeting of December 16, 1991
The regular meeting of the Board was held on Monday, December
16, 1991 at the Community Center of Atlantic Beach. Present
were:
Carolyn Woods, Chairman Sandra Sheppard
Tore Frohne John Weldon, Jr.
Jim Pelkey
Carl Walker, Coordinator
The Meeting was called to order by Carolyn at 7:35 pm.
The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed. Sandra ques-
tioned the handling being given the letter from Safa Mansouri
of Tiffany by the Sea. Carl explained that, according to the
information given him by George, it would not be necessary
for the Commission to take action on the letter. A copy of
that correspondence would be placed in the Quality Contract
Development (C)CD) file for Tiffany by the Sea previously ap-
proved by the Commission.
A motion was made by Jim Pelkey to accept the minutes of the
last meeting, as written. Sandra Sheppard seconded and the
motion unanimously passed.
The application for Tree Removal for Lot # 71, No. Atlantic
Beach, Unit # 3 (2041 Beach Avenue) was reviewed and consid-
ered by the Board. The application called for removal of
nine (9) palm trees, all within the footprint of the building
plan. Following discussion, Sandra Sheppard moved to accept
the application as presented; John Weldon seconded and the
motion passed unanimously.
Carl reported that the remittance from Mrs. Adkins for
$150. 00 covering the Ordinance violation had not yet been
received. A follow up would be made by the City accounting
Department routinely. After a brief discussion, it was sug-
gested by John Weldon that the City collection process take
place. Carl volunteered to follow up to ensure the process
occurred and to continue to advise the Board.
The amendment to the Tree Ordinance was brought up and Carl
reported that he had spoken with Commissioner Fletcher who
advised it would be presented at the regular Commission meet-
ting the second Monday in January. Carl was asked to obtain
from Commissioner Fletcher a copy of the final draft so that
it could be distributed to the Board for review at its next
meeting, prior to presentation to the Commission.
A discussion also took place on a proposed Landscape Ordi-
nance.
rdi-
nance. It was the consensus that it would be desirable to
first get into effect the amended Tree Ordinance, and the
proposed Landscape Ordinance could be added at a later date.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned by
Carolyn Woods at 8:20 pm.
