POLICE OFFICERS' PENSION BOARD SPECIAL MEETING
MINUTES
December 14, 2010
1. The City of Atlantic Beach Police Officers' Pension Board Special Meeting was called to order
at 1:07 PM. The members in attendance were trustees: Dale Hatfield, John Wolfel, Harry McNally
and Vic Gualillo. Bob Sternfeld was absent. Also in attendance were Nelson Van Liere, Pension
Plan Administrator; Scott Christiansen of Christiansen & Dehner, P.A., Pension Board Attorney;
Lawana R. Jackson, disability pension applicant; Mr. Tad Delegal, Ms. Jackson's attorney; Ms.
Tashia Nickerson, Mr. Delegal's Paralegal & a court reporter.
2. The consideration of the application for a disability pension for Lawana R. Jackson was
discussed: Mr. Christiansen, Pension Board Attorney, & Mr. Delegal, Ms. Jackson's attorney,
discussed the validity of Ms. Jackson's application for a disability pension. Mr. George Foster, The
City's Human Resources Manager, joined the meeting and provided everyone present with a time line
of the events that occurred up to & including termination of Ms. Jackson's employment with the City.
A motion stating Ms. Jackson is eligible to apply for a disability pension was made by John Wolfel,
seconded by Dale Hatfield & unanimously approved. All of the information required to proceed
with the application will be provided to Mr. Christiansen, Pension Board Attorney, by Mr. Delegal,
Ms. Jackson's attorney. Dale Hatfield requested that this information be provided in a timely
manner.
3. No New Business.
4. Adjourn — the motion was made by Dale Hatfield & the meeting was adjourned at 2:02 PM
