I have been a neighbor of Mark and Leslie for 6 years and live directly behind them. I met Mark and Leslie fairly soon after moving into our house at 1865 Hickory Lane. Our meeting was bought by the friendship of my Greyhound, Izzy and her Boxer, Winston. Since our dogs became friends; therefore, so did we. My husband, Walter, and I have been over to Mark and Leslie's numerous times for barbeques, dinners and casual social visits. Not once was I ever threatened or felt threatened by Winston. In fact he is very loving and affectionate to both Walter and I. One instance I remember was when Winston tried his best to arrange himself so that his entire body would fit in my lap. He remained there during my whole visit. I have observed Mark and Leslie taking precaution to keep Winston appropriately restrained if a new person or stranger happened to stop by. This was just the owners taking responsibility should something materialize between a new person and their dogs. I never witnessed any aggression from Winston toward anyone during my frequent visits. I truly believe the situation with the Fed Ex Driver was a result of bad judgment from the visitors that were staying at Mark and Leslie's. Winston was just doing his job to protect his property and family. It was an unfortunate circumstance that this happened. I trust that this letter will lend some light on Winston's character.
