TEST SPECLYEN DESCRIPTION
General: The test specimen was a one-over-one s'ngle hung aluminuin prime window measuring
4'6"wide by 76"high overall. The active sash measured 43-314"wide by 39-814"high. The actiue
sash was removable via a single balance system with loeking tilt shoes at each.interiorJamb track,
Frume and sash members were not thermally broken. One(1)metal cam-type sweep lock was
located at 13-112"from each end of the active meeting rail,A sweep lock keeper anw extruded onto
the fixed meeting rail, One(1)metal slide bar limit/6ecurity lock was located at each end of the
active meeting roil with the keeperspunched into thelamba. One(1)plastic till latch was used at
each end of the active meeting rail, An extruded aluminum sash stop was located at the top of each
mterior jamb track. One(1)metal pivot bar was located at each end of the active bottom rail. Tile
fixed meeting rail was fastened to each jamb wi th two(2)(#8 x 814"pan head)screws, The frame
andsash were oldouble screw(#8 x 3/4"pan head)coped corner construction. ne frame was
mounted to the test buck using eight(8)(;010 x 1-1/4"flat head)screws.
Glazing. The active sash and fixed lite were interior glazed using sealed insulating glass with an
adhesive back-bedding and snap-in extruded aluminum glazing bead. Ae overall insulating glass
thickness was 11211 consisting of two(2)lites;of double strength annealed glass and one(1)air space
created by a desiccant-filled aluminum spacer system.
Weatherseals. One(1)strip of center fin weatherstrip(0.200"high)was located at each active sash
stile, Otte(1)strip of center fin weatherwrip(0,250"high)was located at each active sash stile and
the sill. One(1)strip of single leaf vinyl weatherstrip aas located at the fixed and active meeting
rads. One(1)strip of bulb-vinyl weatherstrip was located at the 8ill.
Weeps: One(2)weep hole measuring 31411 x 31161,was
located at each end of the center vertical sill
leg, One(1)weep notch measuring 1/4"x leg height was located at each end of the exterior vertical
sill screen retainer leg.

Sealant- Me frame and active sash corners were sealed with a smalljoint sealant.
Screen: An insect screen measuring 3'11-518"wide by 3'6-114"high was of mitered type corner
construction with staked-in-place nylon corner keys. Me screen employed fiberglass mesh cloth with

ANSIIAAMAI NWWDA 101118.2-97for air infiltration. Yhe listed results were secured by using
the designated test methods and indicate compliance with,the performance requirements of the
referenced specification paragraphsfor the DH-C70 5WOprodact designation.
Detailed drawings were available for laboratory records and comparison to the test'specimen at the
