Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, September 27, 2011
Adele Grage Cultural Center
6:00 p.m.
Present: Lori Gaglione (chair), Cris Garrard, Lynne Roskein, Wanda Wilson Martin Hollie Stephens,
with Timmy Johnson (City liaison) and Karen Kempf (recording).
Absent: Carolyn McCarthy, Tammy Lally, Jolyn Johnson, Jeff Wight. Guest: Shirley McCoy.
1. Call to order - The Chair called the meeting to order at 6:07 pm.
2. Approval of Meeting Minutes - Lynne moved to accept the August 23, 2011 minutes as
written; Cris seconded the motion and the minutes were approved by the committee.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Events, Updates, Reports
i. Mid -Week Market- Timmy reported that the mid -week market has
about the same number of vendors & music. Jeff would like more tents
and signage.
ii. Songwriters & Acoustic Night - Timmy told the committee that the last
Acoustic Night met in the theater due to rain and had to turn people
away. October 30 is the last music in the park for the year. Songwriters'
Concert was likewise full.
iii. Public Art- Timmy and Jolyn checked out businesses as possible
locations for public art on blank walls such as Radio Shack on Sherry
Drive. We will need to get permission from the building owners.
Timmy will send out a list of approved sites to the committee for review,
and then those can go to the City Commission for approval.
iv. Arts in the Park -Nine applications have been received to date.
v. Tennis Fall Championship - Lori reported that the tennis flyers and
applications are out in the tennis shops around the area. Go Pro Tennis
and Selva Marina Country Club will sponsor the event again this year.

Timmy will email the flyer and application to the committee to
distribute and post.
vi. Artisans' Faire - Lynne reported that she is working on an event poster
with Karen featuring several artists' work. She asked for volunteers to
pour wine at the event and for Timmy to check storage for decorations
from previous years.
4. New Business
a. Timmy asked that the committee sign -up for the City's "Notify Me" and
Facebook. He will send out the information to the committee.
5. Other Agenda Items /Announcements
a. The committee reviewed the list of Upcoming Events - all of which need
volunteers to help. Campout, MarshFest, Artisans' Faire, Tennis, Holiday
Celebration, and Arts in the Park. Jeff is helping with student volunteers for the
Campout and Wanda has been representing the committee at the Art Walk.
Visitor Shirley McCoy offered to volunteer for CARAC events.
b. Next meeting - Tuesday, October 25, 2011, 6 pm, Adele Grage
6. Adjournment - With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:26 pm.
