(2) Notwithstanding the provisions above, when the garage is attached to and a part of the main building, the garage (but no other part of the main building) may extend no nearer than one-tenth of the depth of the lot to the rear lot line; provided, that in no case shall the same extend nearer than ten feet to the rear lot line. The term "garage," as herein used, shall mean a structure or space designed primarily for the storage of motor vehicles and used primarily for that purpose, but such term shall also include space devoted to and used for household laundry purposes, storage, servant's toilet and like household purposes.
