Inc. to witness testing on five Series/Model 0970, PVC fixed windows at Associated Materials,

Glazing Details: The sash were exterior glazed with nomi ial 21 mm (13/16") thick, sealec
insulating glass fabricated from two sheets of 3.0 mm(1/8"',clear annealed glass a U-shape(
steel spacer system embedded in sealant, single seated. T insulating glass was set agains
a double-sided adhesive tape and secured with rigid vinyl gazing beads.
Frame Construction: The PVC frame was constructed using mitered and welded corne
construction. A snap-in PVC adapter was applied to the he d.
Sash Construction: The PVC sash were assembled utilizing mitered and welded corne
construction.
Screen Construction: The screen was constructed with cxtruded aluminum. The corner
were miter cut and secured using plastic corner keys. The iberglass mesh screen cloth wa
held-in-place with a flexible vinyl spline.

Reinforcement: No reinfbr�ement utilized.
Installation: The unit was installed in a wood buck constructed of Spruce-Pine-Fir
construction lumber and secured through the master-frame with four #8 x 64 mm
(2-1/2") long screws, one at the top and bottom of each jamb. The interior and exterior
perimeter was sealed with a silicone sealant with the exception of an approximate 4" long
void at each int ' sill mer. A nominal 5 mm (3/16") gap was maintained at the
perimeter between the buck and window frame.
