Concrete Repairs for the Public Works/Utilities Department

BACKGROUND: The City's current contract with Gruhn May, Inc. for concrete
repairs expired on August 31, 2006. We have contacted Mr.
Gordon Gruhn, Vice President of Gruhn May, Inc., who has
agreed to extend the contract for another year at the current
prices. The City has the option of extending the current
contract for two (2) one (1) year periods. This proposed
extension would be the first.
RECOMMENDATION: Extend the contract for one year at the current prices.
ATTACHMENTS: Letter signed by Gordon Gruhn, Vice President of Gruhn
May, Inc. agreeing to the extension.

As you are awaze, the contract with the City of Atlantic Beach for concrete repairs expires on
August 31, 2006. We would like to extend the contract for another year at the current prices, if
~. this is acceptable to your company. We want to clarify work requirement of the contract in that
excavation back filling and worksite clean up are included in the contract unit prices. If
acceptable, please sign below and return to me before September 14, 2006, so I can prepaze a
staff report for the City Commission to accept the extension.
