AGENDA ITEM: Approval of Union contracts.

BACKGROUND: The City and three unions have agreed to the provisions of new
contracts to be effective October 1, 2006. The key changes in the
contract are:

- All contracts -Provides the same pay increase, effective
October 1, 2006, for union members as provided to nonunion
general employees.
- Police Union contract -Also changes the title for Police
Officers assigned to the Crime Suppression Unit to Detective
and provides a +5% increase to their "add pay".
Funds for these changes are currently within the budget.
Copies of the completed union contracts are available within the
City Clerk's office for review.
That the City Commission approve the Local 630, Blue Collar,
union contract and Loca1630 White Collar union contract for the
period October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2009, and
That the City Commission approve the Police union contract for
the period of October 1, 2006 through September 30, 2007.
