minutes were unanimously approved.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Events, Updates, Reports
i. Mid -Week Market- Jeff reported the Mid -Week Market was doing okay
and wanted to go ahead and talk about "new business." In order for the
produce vendors to continue, they need to increase their sales. Jeff
would like to double the people attending and believes that Johansen
Park will be a better venue. He discussed this with the vendors and they
are willing to move. Concerns expressed were in regard to no
electricity, no restrooms, ants, and advertising. After further discussion,
Lori moved that the committee recommend relocating the market from
Bull Park to Johansen Park. Tammy seconded the motion and it was
unanimously approved. Jeff will now take the proposal to the City
Commission.
Jeff also spoke to the committee in regard to having a paid UNF student
coordinator for the market. A volunteer has been doing the email,
advertising, and vendor coordination but Jeff would like him /her to
receive a stipend or some remuneration. Timmy will further research
the possibility of the City contracting with an individual if services are
needed.
ii. Songwriters' Concert - Timmy reported that Songwriters' Concert had
60 attendees at the November performance.
iii. Public Art- Jolyn reported to the committee that the site location and
artist applications are moving slowly. She is still talking with Fleet
Landing about a lift location. She will follow -up on two additional
locations and take to the Commission for approval.
iv. Arts in the Park - Currently Jolyn has 70 applications for the April Event.
The deadline for application is Dec. 31 and she expects to have 80 plus
by end of month. The poster and postcards have been printed.
v. Tennis Fall Championship report - Lori reported that the tennis
tournament was a success, although there were fewer entries. The main
problem was the weather, rainy and windy. The committee might
consider moving it to spring and advertise sooner to get the word out.
vi. Artisans' Faire report- Lynne reported that this year had fewer artists
and participants. Next year she would like to consider moving it to
another night separate from the Art Walk and later in the season.
vii. MarshFest report - Lori reported that the T- shirts @ $18.
Several CARAC members volunteered to work the t -shirt table. The
event was well attended. The food ran out early and was not very good.

more variety.
