BACKGROUND: At the May 22"d Commission Meeting, Staff was directed to design
and construct a bicycle path between Rose Park and Main Street, mostly along
the north bank of the West Plaza Ditch. Because of delays in relocating utility
interferences (guy wires), design and construction of the project was delayed
such that only funds for the concrete portion of the bike path were encumbered
~,. before the end of the fiscal year. Staff estimates $15,000 is required for
guardrail construction and landscaping on the path. This does not include
beautification efforts for the Stocks and Hibiscus street ends.
RECOMMENDATION: Recommend that Staff be directed to prepare a budget
~,,,, modification for First reading to add $15,000 to Project PW0606, Account 131-
5002-541-6300.

BUDGET: Unencumbered project balance at end of fiscal year was $80,000
(Account 131-5002-541-6300). No funds were allocated for Project
PW0606 in the current budget year.
