Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, February 28, 2012
Adele Grage Cultural Center
6:00 p.m.
Present: Lori Gaglione, Cris Garrard, Jolyn Johnson, Tammy Lally, Hollie Stephens, and Jeff Wight
with Timmy Johnson, City Liaison and Karen Kempf Recording.
1. Call to order - Chair Lori Gaglione called the meeting to order at 6 pm.
2. Approval of Meeting Minutes - The committee reviewed the minutes of January 24, 2012.
Tammy moved to accept the minutes as written, Jolyn seconded the motion. The minutes
were unanimously approved.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Events, Updates, Reports
i. Mid -Week Market- Jeff reported that the Market is going well. They
have moved the market out to the open corner. Business has doubled
with new faces and people stopping and looking. Karen is helping with
a new webpage and facebook. UNF students are doing mini - tours.
ii. Songwriters' Concert - Timmy reported that Songwriters was full at 80
with great music.
iii. Public Art- Jolyn is waiting to hear back from Fleet Landing and then
will go to City Commission with new design for the lift station. She still
needs new sites for murals with approval by owners to paint building
walls with public art. Lori will contact Radio Shack and Tammy will
contact the Rad Lovett building. Timmy will send both contact
information. jay Shoots is also interested in designing a public art
mural.
iv. Arts in the Park- Jolyn will be handling the AITP marketing. Posters
were distributed. Jeff will help again with post cards, stamps & labels
and getting the word out at UNF. Print ads and PSAs are being lined up
for the event. Music program with musicians for two tents is taken care
of. Jolyn will contact Ricky Carper about electricity for the west side of
the park. She also reported that the festival will have several new food
vendors this year.
4. New Business
a. Timmy asked the committee to bring ideas for next year's budget to the March
meeting. The committee will put some numbers together for upcoming events
in 2013.
5. Other Agenda Items /Announcements
a. Upcoming Events - Acoustic Nights begins March 25
b. Next meeting - Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 6 pm, Adele Grage
6. Adjournment - With no further business, Hollie moved to adjourn the meeting. Jeff
seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 6:28 pm.
