Dear Sir/Madam,
This letter is to authorize the installation of a new 2 ply 1 3/4" x 11 '/4" LVL header over a
10'-8"wide cased opening in an existing interior bearing wall between the living room and a
conditioned sun room at the above referenced residence. The 10'-8" opening presently has a
double french door, a window and a space between the door and window which is all to be
removed. Each end of the new header shall be supported by (2) 2x4 #2 S.Y.P. cripple studs and
(2) 2x4#2 S.Y.P. king studs. Install (2) Simpson LSTA24 straps from the double top plate to the
cripple studs at the top and (1) Simpson DSPZ at the bottom of the cripple studs at the bottom
plate on both ends of the opening. The Simpson recommended full length fasteners shall be
used.
