Product Roof systems constructed with FLINTGLA3 Ply Sheet Type IV shall be applied in accordance

Manual.The following information is interided for general information purposes only and is
not all-inclusive.
Preparation:Substrates to receive a roofs stem shall be firmly attached, smooth,dry, clean and
free of sharp projections and depressions Flashing details shall be in place, ready to receive
roofing with roof accessories available pri r to application of materials. Substrates requiring
priming shall be primed with asphalt prirr er and be allowed to completely dry. Substrates shall
provide positive drainage. Roof insulation shall be tapered to drains.
Installation:FLINTGLAS Ply Sheet Type I shall be installed shingle method with side laps
determined by the number of plies to be nstalled. End laps shall be 4°and diagonally
staggered not less than 3 feet apart. FLIIN TGLAS Ply Sheet Type IV shall be set in a solid
mopping of bitumen. It is generally applied in multiple layers directly over a base ply of
GLASBASE or ALL WEATHER/EMPI RE B ise Sheet,or approved types of roof insulation.
CertainTeed does not recommend use of FLINTGLAS Ply Sheet Type IV as the first ply over
nailable decks or plastic foam type insul tions. Refer to the CertainTeed Commercial Systems
Specifications Manual for additional infoirnation on product usage.
Precautions:Cold weather applications re uire special handling to prevent damage to the rolls
and to insure satisfactory installation. Do not apply roofing systems over improperly prepared
substrates or substrates which contain moisture.
Maintenance:CertainTeed Commercial R f Systems generally do not require any additional
maintenance beyond normal yearly roof maintenance procedures.CertainTeed recommends
regular roof maintenance and inspection to determine the condition of drains,flashings and
other similar items.
Warranties CertainTeed offers a number of different ypes of Roof Membrane Warranties designed to
