Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Adele Grage Cultural Center
6:00 p.m.
Present: Vice -Chair Lynne Roskein, Cris Garrard, Jolyn Johnson, Tammy Lally, Wanda Martin,
Hollie Stephens with Timmy Johnson (City liaison) and Karen Kempf (recording). Absent: Lori
Gaglione, Jeff Wight.
1. Call to order - Vice -Chair Lynne Roskein called the meeting to order at 6:04 pm.
2. Approval of March 27, 2012Meeting Minutes - The committee reviewed the
minutes.
3. Ongoing Business
a. Events, Updates, Reports
i. Mid -Week Market- Timmy reported that the market is going well
and a couple new vendors. The corner is a good location. Spring
produce is really good, good prices, and good value.
ii. Songwriters' Concert and Acoustic Night - Timmy reported that
Songwriters' had 70 people and Acoustic over 125 people at the
music events last month.
iii. Public Art- Jolyn reported that the lift station art is under way by
the Fleet Landing painters. The Radio Shack owner has not yet
been contacted in regard to the use of the wall for public art.
iv. Arts in the Park- Jolyn reported that everything is ready for the
event. Volunteers are going to being wearing khaki and white
again. Programs and maps will be passed out this year and will
have plenty of food vendors. Jay Shoots and Jim Draper are
judging. jolyn would like some volunteers to help break -down at 6
pm. Jeff and Patrick might be able to help.
v. Budget - Timmy reported that the budget has not been set yet but
committee's recommendations were given to the City Manager.
vi. Keep the Ferry Exhibit - Karen reported that the Keep the Ferry
exhibit was successful. Over $700 was raised by the artists, and
Ferry t -shirts and signs raised over $400 at the reception.
4. New Business
a. Next month the committee will discuss summer meeting schedule for
June and July.
5. Other Agenda Items /Announcements
a. Next meeting - Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 6 pm, Adele Grage
6. Adjournment - with no further business, Tammy moved to adjourn the meeting.
Wanda seconded the motion and the committee unanimously moved to adjourn the
meeting at 6:21 pm.
