Dear Sir and/or Madame:
This letter is written to advise that you are currently in violation of the Florida Building Code as
adopted by the City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances Section 6 -16 as indicated below. A
stop work order was issued on August 19, 2012 for the addition to the rear of your business
being constructed without the required building permit and/or approvals.

FLORIDA BUILDING CODE
Section 105 PERMITS
105.1 Required. Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair,
move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge,
alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any required impact resistant coverings, electrical, gas,
mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause
any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the
required permit. (Addition added to rear of commercial building without a permit and
approx. 725 SF of concrete)
You are requested to obtain the services of a State of Florida, licensed engineer to submit
drawings to the City of Atlantic Beach for construction added to the rear of your office building
and obtain the services of a State of Florida licensed general contractor to obtain a building
permit and obtain all approvals including approval from the Fire Marshal or remove the structure
all concrete added without permits within fourteen (14) days of the receipt of this notice.

To avoid having this case be referred to the Code Enforcement Board, all listed violations on this
notice must be in compliance on or before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code
Enforcement. The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty ($250.00) per day for
continuing violations.
It is our goal to enforce the codes and ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach and protect the
health, safety and welfare of the City, and accordingly, your cooperation in this matter is greatly
