Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to
be in violation of International Property Maintenance Code as adopted by the City of Atlantic
Beach, Code of Ordinances Section 6-16 to wit:
VIOLATIONS
Section 304.2 Protective treatment. All Exterior surfaces, including but not limited to, doors,
door and window frames, cornices, porches,trim, balconies, decks and fences shall be
maintained in good condition. Exterior wood surfaces, other than decay resistant woods, shall be
protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment.
Peeling, flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted. All siding and
masonry joints as well as those between the building envelope and the perimeter of windows,
doors, and skylights shall be maintained weather resistant and water tight. All metal surfaces
subject to rust and corrosion and all surfaces with rust or corrosion shall be stabilized and coated
to inhibit future rust and corrosion. Oxidation stains shall be removed from exterior surfaces.
Surfaces designed for stabilization by oxidation are exempt from this requirement. (House needs
to be painted)

defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in
the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be

manner that creates a public nuisance. (Roof is deteriorated and needs to be replaced)

This letter requests you comply applying new paint to the exterior of the structure and
obtain a building permit and replace your roof within forty-five(45) days from receipt of
this notice.
If the violation is corrected and then recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time
specified in this notice this case may be presented to the Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement
Board even if the violation has been corrected prior to the board meeting. The Code
Enforcement Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty($250.00) dollars per day for each
day the violation is not corrected. Upon completing the corrective action required, it is your
responsibility to contact Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to
verify compliance.
It is our goal to enforce the codes and ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach and protect the
health, safety and welfare of the City, and accordingly,your cooperation in this matter is greatly

Dear Ms. McCormick:
Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to
be in violation of International Property Maintenance Code as adopted by the City of Atlantic
Beach, Code of Ordinances Section 6-16 to wit:
VIOLATIONS
Section 304.2 Protective treatment. All Exterior surfaces, including but not limited to, doors,
door and window frames, cornices,porches, trim, balconies, decks and fences shall be
maintained in good condition. Exterior wood surfaces, other than decay resistant woods, shall be
protected from the elements and decay by painting or other protective covering or treatment.
Peeling, flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted. All siding and
masonry joints as well as those between the building envelope and the perimeter of windows,
doors, and skylights shall be maintained weather resistant and water tight. All metal surfaces
subject to rust and corrosion and all surfaces with rust or corrosion shall be stabilized and coated
to inhibit future rust and corrosion. Oxidation stains shall be removed from exterior surfaces.
Surfaces designed for stabilization by oxidation are exempt from this requirement. (House needs
to be painted)
Section 304.7—Roofs and Drainage. The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight and not have
defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in
the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be
maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof water shall not be discharged in a
manner that creates a public nuisance. (Roof is deteriorated and needs to be replaced)

This letter requests you comply applying new paint to the exterior of the structure and
obtain a building permit and replace your roof within forty-five (45) days from receipt of
this notice.
