This letter is written to advise that you are currently in violation of the Florida Building Code as
adopted by the City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances Section 6-16 as indicated below. A
stop work order was issued on February 11, 2013 for the addition to the front of your two family
dwelling without the required building permit and/or approvals.

Section 105 PERMITS
105.1 Required. Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair,
move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge,
alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any required impact resistant coverings, electrical, gas,
mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause
any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the
required permit. (Addition started to front of structure without a permit)
The permit application and drawings you submitted for approval were submitted as you as the
homeowner obtaining the permit. A homeowner must reside on the property for one (1) year
after the completion of the construction. We have documentation from your title company that
the property has been sold and will close on February 25, 2013. Based on this information you
are required to obtain the services of a State of Florida, licensed contractor to complete the

application and submit drawings to the City of Atlantic Beach for the 2"d floor covered balcony
and obtain a building permit and obtain all approvals within five (5) days of the receipt of this
