Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced abQVe t

be in violation of Chapter 17, City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances, Section 174L�' �2t
Removal of unsafe, damaged or poorly maintained, and abandoned signs to wit:
VIOLATION
Section 17-41. Removal of unsafe, damaged or poorly maintained, and abandoned signs
(b) Damaged signs andpoorly maintained signs. All signs, including exempt signs, shall be
kept in structurally sound condition, with a neat appearance and in a generally good state of
repair. Further, signs shall be maintained in accordance with Section 3108.1.7, Florida Building
Code, which requires that all signs for which a permit is required, together with supports, braces,
guys and anchors shall be dept in repair, and unless of galvanized or non-corroding metal shall
be painted at least once every two (2) years. Any sign destroyed or damaged beyond reasonable
repair in the determination of the building official, shall be immediately repaired or removed at
the property owner or occupant's expense. A new sign permit shall be required for any -1
replacement sign. If not repaired or replaced within thirty (30) days after written notice for the
building official, the sign shall be constitute a public nuisance and shall be removed at the
property owner's expense. (Free standing ground sign posts rusted need to be painted and
face from bottom cabinet is missing allowing components be exposed to the elements)
(c ) Abandoned sign. Signs shall be removed by the owner or occupant within thirty (30) days
of cessation of the business or activity conducted on the property where the sign is located. A
business or activity shall be considered to have ceased when the premises are vacated, or in the

absence of a valid occupational license (business tax receipt) or active utility service account.
Signs not removed in accordance with these provisions shall be considered as abandoned and
shall be removed at the property owner's expense. (AIA Beauty and Hair abandoned wall

This letter requests that the noted violation be corrected by removal of the abandoned wall
sign and painting and replacing the face or remove the cabinet that is rusted and open
being exposed to the elements and a state of disrepair within thirty (30) days from receipt
of this notice.
To avoid having this case be referred to the Code Enforcement Board, all listed violations on this
notice must be in compliance on or before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code
Enforcement. The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty ($250.00)per day for
continuing violations.
