Our records indicate no record that building permits were obtained for the two (2) metal carport
structures installed/erected in your front yard and installed/erected encroaching in the required
twenty (20') foot front yard setback in violation of The City of Atlantic Beach Code of
Ordinances, Chapter 6, has adopted the Florida Building Code which requires permits be
obtained prior to this type work/installation and Chapter 24, Land Development Regulations to
wit:

Section 105 PERMITS
105.1 Required. Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair,
move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge,
alter, repair, remove, convert or replace any required impact resistant coverings, electrical, gas,
mechanical or plumbing system,the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause
any such work to be done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the

(e) Minimum Yard Requirements.The minimum yard requirements in the RS-1
Zoning Districts shall be as follows:
(1) Front yard: Twenty (20) feet.
Please have both unpermitted metal carport structures removed or from your front yard within
twenty (20) days of receipt of this notice or provide evidence that a permit was obtained from the
City of Atlantic Beach.
To avoid having this case be referred to the Code Enforcement Board, all listed violations on this
notice must be in compliance on or before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code
Enforcement. The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty ($250.00) per day for
continuing violations.
It is our goal to keep our neighborhoods looking well maintained and protecting property values,
and accordingly, your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. Please contact Atlantic
