1 am writing this letter with drawings and specifications in regard to the re-roof permit @
1875 Beach Ave. Upon commencing the project we realized the roofs valleys had no
positive drainage. We constructed Crickets in the dead valleys and preformed an over
frame on existing garage to also provide positive water discharge of the structure. The
maximum height off the existing roof is less than 12" and there are no significant weight
or uplift issues due to the work performed. The worked preformed was necessary to
properly complete the project as well as bring the roof into compliance with the 2010
building code. The existing framing specifications were provided by home owner.
Vermey Architects provided architectural drawings and they were field verified by
DSKillian General Contractors. All details are correct and present, however the crickets
were drawn, but never constructed. The Crickets were built to provide a positive
drainage for rain water to exit. The height of crickets is +/- 12" at center of existing
valleys. The pitch of crickets meets the current 2010 Florida building code providing

slightly more than the minimum allowable amount of pitch 1/4" over 12". The Crickets ar,
covered with a 2 ply modified Roofing membrane. A drawing is provided for areas of

crickets that exceed 24" the following specifications are present. The Home also has an

attached garage that had a flat roof. The roof was over framed to provide enough pitch, L&.

valleys. The original roof on the garage was a built up roof of tar and gravel. The ht
