Chairman Gregg McCaulie, oulled the meeting to order and
asked for approval of the minutes from the meeting of August 18,
1992. Upon motion duly made and seconded said minutes were
approved:
NEW BUSINESS:
I. Application for Variance filed by Dr. David Pietrasiuk to
construct an addition to a non-conforming alructure for property
located at 1918 North Sherry Drive.
Bob Esposito, designer of the proposed construction, introduced
himself to the board and explained the reasons the Variance was
requested. He explained that the drawings e:ubmitted with the
application showed a substantial difference from the plans
submitted in July 1992 in the previous variance request. He
presented to the board copies of letters from residents
indicating their approval of said construction.
Don Wolfson brought to the attention of the board that it would
be necessary to determine whether or not the plans submitted
reflected a substantial difference before they could consider the
applicant's variance request.
After discussion and two tie votes, Mr. Wolfson moved that the
plans were substantially the same proposal submitted in the July
meeting. The motion was seconded and passed by a vote of 5 - I.
II. Application for Variance filed by ?tattie L. Nunn to
construct a screened enclosure for a swimming pool which will
encroach the rear yard setback on property located at 720 Triton
Road.
Ms. Nunn introduced herself to the board and stated the reasons a
variance was being requested.
After discussion, Mr. Howie moved to approve the variance. ME.
Pillmore seconded the motion and it passed by a vote of 5 - 1.
Ill. Application for Variance filed by Robert K. Lynch to
construct an addition to his non-conforming residence at 711
Ocean Boulevard.
Mr. Lynch introduced himself to the board and explained the
reasons the variance was requested.
After discussion, Mr. Wolfson moved to approve the variance as
requested. Mr. Frohwein seconded the motion and it was
unanaimoulsy passed.
IV. Application for Variance filed by James Barrington Darby to
construct a carport which will encroach the side yard setback
line on property located at 350 Ocean Boulevard.
Mr. Darby introduced himself to the Board _and explained that he
had received a note from his neighbor that stated an objection to
the variance request and asked that the application be deferred
to a later date.
V. Application for Use-by-Exception filed by Debra R. F"agen to
operate a massage therapy business on property located at 299
Atlantic Boulevard.
Ms. Fagen introduced herself to the Board and explained that the
reason the use by exception had been requested.
After discussion, Mr. Wulfson moved to recommend to the City
Commission that the Use-by-Exception be granted. Mie. Fillmore
seconded the motion and it was unanimously passed.
V1. Proposal by Reuben Buffkin to Hell two lots; to Singleton's
Mobile Home Park for expansion of park by four homes.
Mr. Buffkin introduced himself to the board and submitted a copy
of a plat of the subject property and explained the reason he
desired to sell the property.

Mr. Worley explained to the board the the City Commission had
referred this matter to this board for review and recommendation
to them.
After discussion, Mr. Wolfson moved to recommend to the City
Commission not to proceed with the continuation of the non-
conforming use of the property but that the City make a study of
the acquisition of the property for a City park. Mr. Frohwein
seconded the motion and it was passed by a vote of 5 - 1.
OLD BUSINESS:
Mrs. Gregg suggested to the board that the capital improvements
for the City recommended by the City Manager be delivered to the
board for review instead of directly to the City Commission and
for the board to review said suggestions and make recommendations
to the City Commission.
Mr. Worley explained to the board the procedures of the capitalO
improvement program. No action was taken on this matter.
There being no further business to come before the board
motion made and seconded the meeting was adjourned.

This manual was prepared to select the various component structural
parts of Aluminum Speciality Structures . The manual applies to the
Southeastern United States and other areas having the same Wind Load
characteristics as found in the "STANDARD BUILDING CODE" Chapter 120°
1991 Revisions . The following is the designers interpretation of
said code. All values are based on a mean roof height of 0- 25 ' .

Unless local codes require a specific wind velocity load, this designer
selects a wind load of 110 MPH for the coastal areas of North & Central
Florida South to Lake Okeechobee and 25 miles inland. For the inland
areas previously described, a 95 MPH wind load is selected. For the ares
from Lake Okeechobee South a wind velocity load of 120 MPH is selected.
All tables furnished are for extrusions most common to this area and

1 . ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES AND ASSUMPTIONS
This manual was prepared to select the various component structural
parts of Aluminum Speciality Structures . The manual applies to the
Southeastern United States and other areas having the same Wind Load
characteristics as found in the "STANDARD BUILDING CODE" Chapter 120`
1991 Revisions . The following is the designers interpretation of
said code. All values are based on a mean roof height of 0- 25 ' .

Unless local codes require a specific wind velocity load, this designer
selects a wind load of 110 MPH for the coastal areas of North & Central
Florida South to Lake Okeechobee and 25 miles inland. For the inland
areas previously described, a 95 MPH wind load is selected. For the area
from Lake Okeechobee South a wind velocity load of 120 MPH is selected.
All tables furnished are for extrusions most common to this area and
available to contractors and suppliers . The aluminum alloy that all
suppliers and contractors should specify when ordering is shown of the
applicable table. If a 95 MPH is allowed, multiply the span or height
shown on the 100 MPH wind load tables by 1 . 06 and use those values
