We understand that no previous survey of this type had been performed. The samples were obtained by Mr. Marsh based on distribution and accessibility. Club House Acoustical Ceiling Treatment HVAC Duct Mastic 2' x 2' Rough Ceiling Panel (in laundry room) Golf Shop 12"x 12" Floor Tile and Mastic in Storage Room 1660 House Drywall joint Compound Acoustical Ceiling Treatment Assumed Asbestos No materials were assumed to be asbestos-containing during the survey. Additional Point-Counting Analysis The 2' x 2' rough ceiling panel in the Clubhouse and the drywall joint compound in the 1660 House were further analyzed using Point-Count methodology to better quantify their asbestos concentration, with the following results: Sample S-31 2' x 2' Rough Ceiling Panel PLM = <1% Point-Count= No Asbestos Sample 16690-4 Drywall Joint Cmpd PLM = <1% Point-Count= <0.25% Based on the PLM and Point-Count results the drywall joint compound and 2' x 2' rough ceiling panels are not categorized as asbestos-containing materials. MI 4 Selva Marina Country Club,Atlantic Beach, FL November 4,2013 Pre-Demolition Asbestos Survey AMEC Project Number 6741-13-3885 FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Findings Clubhouse The acoustical Ceiling Treatment and HVAC duct mastic were found to be asbestos-containing. The ceiling treatment is found in the main dining room, bar dining room, entry lobby, lobby restrooms and Kids Shack. Golf Shop The 12"x 12"floor tile and mastic were found to be asbestos-containing. 1660 House The acoustical ceiling treatment was found to be asbestos-containing and is throughout the house. Recommendations The asbestos-containing HVAC duct mastic in the Clubhouse and 12" x 12" floor tile/mastic in the Golf Shop are non-friable asbestos-containing materials that do not have to be removed from the structure prior to demolition, as long they are kept wet during the demolition and their substrate is not recycled. The acoustical ceiling treatments in the Clubhouse and 1660 House are Friable asbestos- containing materials that must be removed by a State of Florida Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor prior to demolition.
