Extend the contract with R & D Landscape & Irrigation for one year at the rate of $55,620.00 for Streets and $63,489.00 for Parks for a total cost of$119,109.00. E. Ordinance No. 5-14-61, Introduction and First Reading AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, ADMINISTRATION, ARTICLE II, CITY COMMISSION, SEC. 2-16, TIME AND PLACE OF REGULAR MEETINGS, TO PROVIDE FOR TWO (2) REGULAR MEETINGS PER MONTH EXCEPT FOR DECEMBER, CHANGING THE TIME TO 6:00 PM, AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 8. These unsung heroes do the work that keeps our nation working; and Whereas, Public employees take not only jobs, but oaths; and Whereas, Many public servants, including military personnel, police officers, firefighters, border patrol officers, embassy employees, health care professionals and others, risk their Jives each day in service to the people of the United States and around the world; and Whereas, Public servants including teachers, doctors and scientists, train conductors and astronauts, nurses and safety inspectors, laborers, computer technicians and social workers , and countless other occupations, day in and day out, provide the diverse services demanded by the American people of their government with efficiency and integrity; and Whereas, Without these public servants at every level, continuity would be impossible in a democracy that regularly changes its leaders and elected officials; Now, Therefore, I, Carolyn Woods, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Atlantic Beach, Florida, do hereby proclaim the week of May 4 -10, 2014, as PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION WEEK in the City of Atlantic Beach, and encourages all citizens to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of government employees at all levels -federal , state, county and city.
