This NOA is being issued under the applicable rules and regulations governing the use of construction materials.
The documentation submitted has been reviewed by Miami-Dade County Product Control Division and accepted
by the Board of Rules and Appeals(BORA)to be used in Miami Dade County and other areas where allowed by
the Authority Having Jurisdiction(AHJ).
This NOA shall not be valid after the expiration date stated below. The Miami-Dade County Product Control
Division (In Miami Dade County) and/or the AHJ (in areas other than Miami Dade County) reserve the right to
have this product or material tested for quality assurance purposes. If this product or material fails to perform in
the accepted manner, the manufacturer will incur the expense of such testing and the AHJ may immediately
revoke, modify, or suspend the use of such product or material within their jurisdiction. BORA reserves the right
to revoke this acceptance, if it is determined by Miami-Dade County Product Control Division that this product or
material fails to meet the requirements of the applicable building code.
This product is approved as described herein,and has been designed to comply with the Florida Building code
including the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of the Florida Building Code.

change in the applicable building code negatively affecting the performance of this product.
TERMINATION of this NOA will occur after the expiration date or if there has been a revision or change in the
materials,use,and/or manufacture of the product or process. Misuse of this NOA as an endorsement of any
product,for sales,advertising or any other purposes shall automatically terminate this NOA. Failure to comply

System Type A: Mechanical attachment of ridge vent system over composition shingles.
Cutout: Truss Construction: Cut shall be 1-'/4"wide and 6"shorter at from each end wall
plane than the total length of the ridge vent to be installed.
Ridge Pole Construction: Cut shall be 2-3/4'wide and 6" shorter at from each end
wall plane than the total length of the ridge vent to be installed.
Installation: Mark proper alignment and end line for vents with chalk;outer edge of vent shall be
7" from apex of roof.
Center the lenth of vent along the ridge. Start nailing with minimum 1'/4"roofing
nails the vent at end then proceed down the vent on each side using the nail holes at
approximately every foot. Use nails of sufficient length to penetrate through the
sheathing a minimum of 3/16"or at least 1"into wood plank decking thicker than 1".
Cut lines are provide if more than one vent is being used(See manufactures
intallation manual). Additional pieces shall run in the same direction as they unroll
out of the carton.
Ridge Shingle: Install the cap shingles directly to the vent,in the normal manner, using roofing nails
of sufficient length to penetrate through the sheathing a minimum of/16"or at least
1"into wood plank decking thicker than I".

1. Refer to applicable Building Code for required ventilation.
2. Omni Roll Ridge Vent shall not be installed in conjunction with Gable vents.

4. Omni Roll Ridge Vent shall not be connected at ridge intersection,nor within 12"of any side wall
or roof protrusion,with a ventilation slot clearane of 12"from such obstructions.
5. Omni Roll Ridge Vent shall not be installed on roof mean heights greater than 33 ft.
6. For application over laminated shingles,apply a bead of silicone caulking or roof cement to the
underside of the outer baffle and at exposed edges.

4.1.1 LibertyTM SBS Self-Adhering Base/Ply Sheet is a smooth-surfaced, fiberglass-reinforced,
self-adhering SBS modified bitumen roof underlayment.
4.1.2 Ruberoid® SA Base/Ply Sheet is a smooth-surfaced, fiberglass-reinforced, self-adhering
SBS modified bitumen roof underlayment.
4.1.3 StormGuardp Leak Barrier is a film-surfaced, fiberglass-reinforced, self-adhering SBS
modified bitumen roof underlayment. StormGuard® is also used as a secondary water barrier
to seal roof decks.
4.1.4 UnderRoofTm 2 Leak Barrier is a spun-bond-glass-reinforced-polyester-mat-surfaced,
composite-reinforced, SBS self-adhering modified bitumen roof underlayment.
4.1.5 UnderRoofTm HT Leak Barrier is a polyester-mat-surfaced, fiberglass-reinforced, self-
adhering SBS modified bitumen roof underlayment.
4.1.6 Weather Watch® Leak Barrier is a mineral-surfaced, fiberglass-reinforced, self-adhering
SBS modified bitumen roof underlayment. WeatherWatch® is also used as a secondary water

4.2.4 StormSafe@ Anchor Sheet is a polypropylene woven fabric which serves as an anchor sheet
in two-ply roof underlayment systems.
4.2.5 Tiger Paw" Roof Deck Protection is a non-woven, polypropylene reinforced, polymer
coated roof underlayment.
4.2.6 VersaShield® Underlayment or VersaShield@ Fire Resistant Roof Deck Protection is a
non-asphaltic, fiberglass-based roof underlayment and/or fire barrier.
5. LIMITATIONS:
5.1 This Evaluation Report is not for use in the HVHZ.
5.2 Fire Classification is not part of this Evaluation Report; refer to current Approved Roofing
Materials Directory for fire ratings of this product.
5.3 GAF Roof Underlayments may be used with any prepared roof cover where the product is
specifically referenced within FBC approval documents. If not listed, a request may be made
to the AH7 for approval based on this evaluation combined with supporting data for the

INSTALLATION:
6.1 GAF Roof Underlayments shall be installed in accordance with GAF published installation
instructions subject to the Limitations set forth in Section 5 herein and the specifics noted
below.
6.2 Re-fasten any loose decking panels, and check for protruding nail heads. Sweep the
substrate thoroughly to remove any dust and debris prior to application, and prime the
substrate (if applicable).
6.3 Install self-adhering underlayments when ambient temperatures are minimum 45°F and
rising.
6.4 All metal surfaces shall be primed with TopCoat@ Matrix"' 307 Premium Asphalt Primer or
alternate GAF accepted ASTM D41 primer prior to application of self-adhering membranes.

6.10.3 For non-tile applications direct to deck:
For direct-bond to deck applications plywood shall be primed with TopCoat® MatrixTM 307
Premium Asphalt Primer or alternate GAF accepted ASTM D41 primer at 1/2 to 3/4 gallon per
square.
Prior to removal of release film, align sheets properly starting at the low-point of the roof
(eave) with the selvage edge upslope and for minimum 2-inch overhang at eaves and rakes.
Roll out sheet and allow to 'relax' for min. 30 minutes. Remove the lower piece of release
film and bond to substrate and fold the overhanging 2-inch over the eave and nail into place
12" o.c. Remove the top piece of release film and bond to substrate. Install primed drip
edge and fasten to meet FBC Chapter 16 wind load requirements. Install 1/8-inch troweling
of TopCoat@ MatrixTM 201 Premium SBS Flashing Cement over drip edge.
Continue upslope in a similar manner, maintaining minimum 3-inch side-laps and minimum
6-inch end-laps. Ensure all end laps are staggered at least 18-inch apart.
Use a weighted lawn or linoleum roller to ensure complete adhesion to the substrate. Use a
hand roller to firmly bond side and end laps.

Reference is made to FRSA/TRI 07320/8-05 Installation Manual, Fourth Edition, and Table 2
herein, using the instructions noted herein as a guideline. Tile shall be loaded and staged in
a manner that prevents tile slippage and/or damage to the underlayment.
6.12.4 For non-tile applications direct to deck:
Prior to removal of release film, align sheets properly starting at the low-point of the roof
(eave) with the selvage edge upslope and for minimum 2-inch overhang at eaves and rakes.
Remove the lower piece of release film and bond to substrate and fold the overhanging 2-

SCOPE:
This Evaluation Report is issued under Rule 9N-3 and the applicable rules and regulations governing
the use of construction materials in the State of Florida. The documentation submitted has been
reviewed by Robert Nieminen, P.E. for use of the product under the Florida Building Code and
Florida Building Code, Residential Volume. The products described herein have been designed to
comply with the 2007 FBC and 2007 FBC Residential Volume sections noted herein.
DESCRIPTION: GAF Asphalt Roof Shingles
LABELING: Each unit shall bear labeling in accordance with the requirements the Accredited Quality
Assurance Agency noted herein.
CONTINUED COMPLIANCE: This Evaluation Report is valid until such time as the named product(s)
changes, the referenced Quality Assurance documentation changes, or provisions of the Code that
relate to the product change. Acceptance of this Evaluation Report by the named client constitutes
agreement to notify Robert Nieminen, P.E. if the product changes or the referenced Quality
Assurance documentation changes. TrinityJERD requires a complete review of this Evaluation
Report relative to updated Code requirements with each Code Cycle.
ADVERTISEMENT: The Evaluation Report number preceded by the words "Trinity IERD Evaluated" may
be displayed in advertising literature. If any portion of the Evaluation Report is displayed, then it
shall be done in its entirety.
INSPECTION: Upon request, a copy of this entire Evaluation Report shall be provided to the user by
the manufacturer or its distributors and shall be available for inspection at the job site at the
request of the Building Official.

4. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
4.1 Royal Sovereign is a fiberglass reinforced, 3-tab asphalt roof shingles.
4.2 Camelot, Camelot II / Camelot 30, Capstone, Country Mansion, Country Mansion II, Grand
Canyon, Grand Sequoia, Grand Slate, Grand Slate II, Timberline ArmorShield II, Timberline
Natural Shadow, Timberline HD / Timberline Prestique 30, Timberline Prestique 40 / Timberline
Cool Series, Timberline Ultra HD / Timberline Prestique Lifetime, and Timberline Majestic /
Timberline Majestic 30 are fiberglass reinforced, laminated asphalt roof shingles.
4.3 Slateline is a fiberglass reinforced, 5-tab asphalt roof shingle.
4.4 Seal-A-Ridge, Seal-A-Ridge Armorshield, Ridglass 8, Ridglass 10, Ridglass 12 and Timbertex Hip
and Ridge are fiberglass reinforced, hip and ridge asphalt roof shingles.
4.5 ProStart Starter is a starter strip for asphalt roof shingles.
S. LIMITATIONS:
5.1 This Evaluation Report is not for use in the HVHZ.
5.2 Fire Classification is not part of this Evaluation Report; refer to current Approved Roofing
Materials Directory for fire ratings of this product.
5.3 Wind Classification:
5.3.1 All GAF shingles noted herein are Classified in accordance with FBC Tables 1507.2.10 and
R905.2.6.1 to ASTM D3161, Class F or ASTM D7158, Class H, indicating the shingles are
acceptable for us in all wind zones up to 150 mph. Refer to Section 6 for installation
requirements to meet this wind rating.
5.3.2 Classification by this method applies to buildings less than 60 feet high and with Wind Exposure
B and C only in an Occupancy Category of I or II.
5.3.3 For buildings falling outside the constraints in 5.3.1 or 5.3.2, calculations by a qualified design
professional in accordance with UL2390 / ASTM D7158 / ASCE 7 may be conducted for the
specific project with data for the specific shingle. Contact the shingle manufacturer for data
specific to each shingle.
5.3.4 All GAF hip & ridge shingles noted herein have been evaluated in accordance with ASTM D3161,
Class F. Refer to Section 6 for installation requirements to meet this wind rating.
5.5 All products in the roof assembly shall have quality assurance audit in accordance with the
Florida Building Code and F.A.C. Rule 9N-3.
6. INSTALLATION:
6.1 Underlayment:
6.1.1 Underlayment shall be acceptable to GAF Materials Corporation and shall hold current FBC
Approval, or be Locally Approved per Rule 9N-3, per FBC Sections 1507.2.3 and/or 1507.2.4.

6.2 Asphalt Shingles:
6.2.1 Installation of asphalt shingles shall comply with the manufacturer's current published
instructions, but not less than four (4) fasteners per shingle in accordance with the
requirements of FBC Section 1507.2 or FBC Residential Volume Section R905.2, with the
following exceptions:
Camelot, Camelot II / Camelot 30, Grand Slate II and Country Mansion II require minimum
five (5) fasteners per shingle
6.2.2 Fasteners and fastener placement shall be in accordance with manufacturer's current published
installation instructions.
6.2.3 Where the roof slope exceeds 20 units vertical in 12 units horizontal (166-percent slope),
special methods of fastening are required. Contact GAF Materials Corporation for details.
6.3 Hip &Ridge Shingles:
6.3.1 Installation of Ridglass 8, Ridglass 10 and Ridglass 12 asphalt shingles shall comply with the
manufacturer's current published instructions with a minimum two (2) fasteners per side and
asphalt roofing cement.
6.3.2 Installation of Seal-A-Ridge and Seal-A-Ridge Armorshield asphalt shingles shall comply with
the manufacturer's current published instructions with a minimum two (2) fasteners per
shingle.
6.3.3 Installation of Timbertex Hip and Ridge asphalt shingles shall comply with the manufacturer's
current published instructions with a minimum two (2) fasteners per shingle and beads of
Sonneborn NP1 Gun Grade Polyurethane Sealant or Henkel PL Roofing and Flashing Sealant.
7. LABELING:
Each unit shall bear a permanent label with the manufacturer's name, logo, city, state and logo of the
Accredited Quality Assurance Agency noted herein.
$. BUILDING PERMIT REQUIREMENTS:
As required by the Building Official or Authority Having Jurisdiction in order to properly evaluate the
installation of this product.
9. MANUFACTURING PLANTS:
Contact the named QA entity for information on which plants produce products covered by Florida Rule
9N-3 QA requirements.
