Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found your property referenced above
to be in violation of the City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances, to wit:
VIOLATION
IPMC 302.4 Weeds. All premises and exterior property shall be maintained free from weeds or
plant growth in excess of twelve (12) inches. All noxious weeds shall be prohibited. Weeds shall
be defined as all grasses, annual plants and vegetation, other than trees or shrubs provided;
however, this term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens.(overgrown vacant lot)
This letter requests that the noted violations be corrected by mowing the vacant lot within
ten (10) days of the receipt of this notice.
To avoid having this case be referred to the Code Enforcement Board, all listed violations on this
notice must be in compliance on or before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code
Enforcement. The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty ($250.00) per day for
continuing violations. Upon completing the corrective action required, it is your responsibility to
contact Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance.

Subject: Maintenance of empty lot on Ocean Grove Dr.
Hello Ms. White,
I live at 1839 Ocean Grove Drive in Atlantic Beach. Recently, the empty lot next to me to the
south was sold to a new owner. Is there a code that requires owners of empty lots to maintain
them? Since the sale, the lot has been allowed to become overgrown with weeds, especially the
ones that produce the painful stickers. I do not know who now owns the lot. I would like to
request that the current owner be contacted and asked to mow the lot remove the weeds, and
maintain the lot.
