• • 2 An act to amend Section .33, Chapter
3 57-1126, Laws of Florida, Special
4 1996 Acts of 1957, entitled : "An Act to
5 .. incorporate the City of Atlantic
6 Beach, Florida, in Duval County, and
7 to provide for its government and
8 prescribe its jurisdiction, powers,
9 privileges and immunities, and -:o
10 abolish the present municipality of
11 the Town of Atlantic Beach"; relating
12 to the city tax assessor, method of
i3 appointment and dismissal; providing
14 a method of assessment; providing for
15 adoption of certain assessments of Duval
16 County; providing an effective date.
17 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of
18 Florida:
19 Section L. Section 33 of Chapter 57-1126,
20 Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1957, entitled:
21 "An Act to incorporate the City of Atlantic Beach,
22 Florida, in Duval County, and to provide for its

�7 Section 33. City Tax Assessor : ,r°°

The City Commission shall appoint an officer
�9 • of the City who shall have the title of City Tax
30 Assessor. He shall serve at the pleasure of the City
31 Commission and shall be under its direction and

1 control. He shall receive such compensnt,i 0;; as shall
• • 2 ' be fixed by the City Commission'• . e siiaLL prepare •
3 tax maps, assess aLL properties subject to annual
4 taxation within the corporate Limits of the City for
5 . taxation and shall perform all the .usual duties of
6 a Tax Assessor; provided, however, that the City
7 Con nission .may by Ordinance provide that the City
8 Tax Assessor in the preparation of the roll shall
9 adopt the assessments either as to personal property,
10 or real estate, or both, made by the Tax Assessor of
11 Duval County, Florida, upon such property in the
12 City subject to taxation by it. Notwithstanding
13 any other provision of law, or of this charter, the
14 office of City Tax Assessor shall never be combined
15 with any other office of the City.
16 Section 2. This Act shall take effect upon
17 becoming a Law.
