House Bill 238 Chapter 25675 No. 679 v Chapter 25675 No. 679 (House Bill No. 238) AN ACT to Amend Chapter 13907, Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1929, Entitled "AN ACT to Fix the Territorial Limits of the Town of Atlantic Beach, to Provide for its Government and Prescribe its Jurisdiction and Powers, " by En- larging the Territorial Limits of said Town to Include the ?art of the Street or Road Known as the Plaza Lying East of the Street or Road Known as Old Sherry Drive. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA: Section 1. That Section 1 of said Chapter 13907, Laws of Florida, Special Acts of 1929, be amended to read as follows : Section 1. The territorial boundaries of the Town of Atlantic Beach, a municipal corporation in Duval County, Florida, shall be as follows : Beginning at a point on the beach of the Atlantic Ocean, as shown on a map of a part of a subdivision "A" , Atlantic Beach, Plat Book 6, Page 1, of Duval County Records, where the North side of an unnamed street North of Block 62, 63 and 64, as shown on said map, and known as 16th would, if prolonged, inter-- sect with low water mark of said Atlantic Ocean; running thence Westerly along the North line of said 16th Street to the inter- section of said line with the Northerly boundary line of Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 29 East; running thence Westerly along said Northerly boundary and along the Northerly boundary lines of Section 17 and 18 in said Township and Range to the/North- , westerly corner of said Section 18; running thence Southerly along the Western boundary line of said Section 18 and the westerly boundary line of Section 19, in said Township and Range, 1 to the intersection of the last mentioned line with the Northerly side of Atlantic Boulevard; running thence Easterly along the Northerly side of Atlantic Boulevard and a prolongation of the same to the point of intersection of said prolongation with low water mark of said Altantic Ocean; and running thence Northerly 1 along said low water mark of Atlantic Ocean to the point or place of beginning; and jurisdiction of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean two miles from the low water mark between the North and South lines of said town as above described, projected Easterly two miles;' all in Duval County, Florida, excepting, however, from the territory hereinbefore described, all streets, roads or highways that have heretofore been adopted as County Roads by the County Commissioners of Duval County, Florida, provided, however, that that part of the street or road known as the Plaza, lying East of the street or road known as Old Sherry Drive , shall not be deemed included in the streets , roads or highways above excepted. Section 2. This Act shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Governor or upon becoming a law without such approval by the Governor.
