AN ACT To Amend Section 1 of Chapter 13907, Laws
of Florida, Special Acts of 1929, the Same Being "An Act to
Fix the Territorial Limits of the Town of Atlantic Beach, to
Provide for its Government , and Prescribe its Jurisdiction and
Powers. " By Enlarging the Territorial Limits of Said Town to
Include All Streets, Road or Highways that have Heretofore been
Adopted by the County Commissioners of Duval County as County
Roads through Said Town, and Providing for a Referendum.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA:
Section 1. That said Section 1 , of said Chapter
13907, be and it is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 1. The territorial boundaries of the Town
of Atlantic Beach, a municipal corporation in Duval County,
Florida, shall be as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Beach of the tlantic Ocean, as
shown on a map of a part of a subdivision "A" , Atlantic Beach,
Plat Book 6, page 1, of Duval County Records . where the North
side of an unnamed street north of Blocks 62, 63 and 64, as •
shown on said map, and known as 16th Street , would, if prolonged,
intersect with low water mark of said Atlantic Ocean; running
thence westerly along the north line of said 16th Street to the
intersection of said line with the northerly boundary line of
Section 16, Township 2 South, Range 29 east; running thence west-
erly along said northerly boundary and along the northerly bound-
ary lines of Section 17 and 18 in said Township and Range to the
northwesterly corner of said Section 18; running thence Southerly
along the western boundary line of said Section 18 and the westerly
boundary line of said Section 19, in said Township and Range, to
the intersection of the last mentioned lines with the northerly
side of Atlantic Boulevard; running thence easterly along the
northerly side of Atlantic Boulevard and a prolongation of the
same to the point of intersection of said prolongation with low
water mark of said Atlantic Ocean; and running thence northerly
along said low water mark of the Atlantic Ocean to the point or
place of beginning; and jurisdiction over the waters of the
Atlantic Ocean two miles from the low water mark between the
north and south lines of said town as above described, projected
easterly two miles; all in Duval County, Florida.
Section 2. This Act shall not become operative or
effective until ratified or approved at a referendum election
to be called and held in the said Town of Atlantic Beach, Duval
County, Florida, as provided by general law. Said referendum
election shall be called and held not later than the second
Tuesday in August , A. D. , 1950.
Became a law without the Governor's approval.
