After initial review,the following exceptions were noted in your construction plans submitted to this
office as part of the building/mechanical permit process:
1. Provide site plans showing 20'fire department access. Please provide proof of meeting minimum
required fire flow requirements for proposed building per NFPA 118.4 and Table 18.4.5.1.2.This can
be accomplished by contacting JEA and obtain hydrant flow test information conducted within the last
12 months and providing report with next submission. Flow data can also be obtained by private
provider as long as it is witnessed by our office. Hydrant must be within 500' of proposed building
measured via drivable fire dept. access rd.
2. Minimum fire protection ratings for opening protectives Vertical shafts, including stairways,
exits, and refuse chutes.Walls and partitions with a one hour rating require a one hour opening
protective. Doors 106A and 200A require a one hour rating.
Provide total travel distance from second floor to outside of building.
3. 11.1.9.1* Means shall be provided for the fire department to
disconnect the electrical service to a building, structure, or
facility when the electrical installation is covered under the
scope of NFPA 70.
11.1.9.2 The disconnecting means shall be maintained accessible
Ito the fire department.
4. Each disconnecting means shall be legibly marked to indicate its purpose unless located and arranged
so the purpose is evident.The marking shall be of suffient duribility to withstand the enviroment
