Meeting Minutes
Tuesday, March 25, 2014
Adele Grage Cultural Center
6:00 p.m.
Present: Cris Garrard,Jolyn Johnson, Tammy Lally, Wanda Martin, Lynne Roskein, Lou Catania, Timmy
Johnson and Julie Metheney(City liaisons).
Excused:Jeff Wight, Lori Gaglione
Absent:Hollie Stephens
Visitors: Judy Hewitt and Commissioner Jimmy Hill
1. Call to order- Lynne Roskein called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm
2. Approval of Meeting Minutes-Cris moved and Jolyn seconded the motion to approve the
January 28, 2014 minutes. The minutes were unanimously approved.
3. New Business
a. Request from ABET-ABET's President Judy Hewitt requested that the
Committee support and provide funding in the amount of$6,500 for ABET's
fundraiser and community awareness event. The event"Carnival" is
scheduled for September 27 in Johansen Park. Judy describe the event as
theater in the park similar to the City's Arts in the Park event,which will
include theater,music,alcohol,face painting,bounce houses,food vendors and
more.
The Committee discussed the event and ask Judy whether or not ABET would
put any money into the event,will any money from the event come back to the
city prior to ABET making money,is there a detailed budget,will ABET
sponsors help fund the event,and could ABET scale the event back. Because
Judy was not prepared to answer a number of the concerns,the Committee
deferred action until the next meeting. Tammy motioned to table the
discussion until the Committee's regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday,April
22. Jolyn seconded the motion and the motion carried 5-1; Lou voted nay.
4. Other Agenda Items/Announcements
a. Next meeting-April 22, 2014
5. Adjournment-with no further business, Lynne moved and Tammy seconded the motion to
adjourn the meeting. The meeting was unanimously adjourned at 6: pm.
