Special Called Meeting Minutes
Wednesday,August 12, 2015
Adele Grage Cultural Center
Present: Nick Malie, Pamela White, Martha Marshall, Charlise Goodbread,Jay Wilson, Grant Healy,
Sheena Rupert and Timmy Johnson (City Liaison).
Absent: Lou Catania,Judy Workman
1. Call to order- Chairperson Grant Healy called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm

a. FRDAP Grant- Russell Park Improvements-A special meeting of the Committee
was called to discuss submission of the Florida Recreation Development Assistance
Program (FRDAP) grant application. Recreation Director Timmy Johnson explained
FRDAP is a competitive program which provides grants to local governments for the
purpose of land acquisition and development of parks for public outdoor recreation
use.
The City is submitting the grant application in the amount of$50,000 for
improvements to the soccer field at Russell Park and to add lights on the basketball
court at Russell Park The application deadline is Friday,August 14.
Pam ask whether or not a bocce court could be added to the grant application.
Timmy mentioned the improvements do not include a bocce court,but the city could
possibly add one at Bull Park
Jay ask how would the funds be distributed between the soccer field and the
basketball court. Timmy replied that the soccer field improvements are more
expensive than the basketball court.
Nick motioned and Jay seconded to support the submission of the FRDAP grant
application for the soccer field and basketball court improvements at Russell Park.
The motion carried unanimously.
