Dear Mr. Totter:
Please be advised, Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to be in
violation of Chapter 19, Streets sidewalks and Other Public Places, City of Atlantic Beach, Code of
Ordinances,to wit:
VIOLATION
Section 19-5. —Intersections; sight distance requirements and safety zones.
(a) Sight distance requirements. For purposes of this section, defined intersection shall mean
any intersection,which has a city-owned or maintained road, street, or any other roadway, as
one of the roadways comprising the intersection. Excluded from this definition is any
intersection where there is a required stop condition(multi-way stop,traffic signal, or
continual flashing red light)for each roadway traffic lane entering an intersection.
Unobstructed and clear sight distance shall be maintained as depicted within figures 1-3
(following this section), in accordance with the designated travel speed of streets and
adequate visibility at defined intersections,the owners or occupants of private real property
shall be prohibited from any of the following, which may obstruct a driver's view of
approaching traffic at such intersections;
(1) Plant or permit the growth of shrubbery or any other vegetation with the city right-of-
way higher than thirty(30) inches above the established grade of the right-of-way; or
(2) Allow tree branches to extend below the height of ten(10)feet above the established
grade of the right-of-way; or
This letter requests that the noted violations be corrected by trimming of vegetation at the
intersection/corner of East Coast Drive and 11 1h Street within ten (10)days from receipt of this
notice.

A re-inspection will be done on or before December 5,2011. To avoid having this case be referred to the
Code Enforcement Board,all listed violations on this notice must be in compliance on or before the date
established by Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement. The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty
($250.00)per day for continuing violations.
It is our goal to enforce the codes and ordinances of the City of Atlantic Beach and protect the health,
safety and welfare of the City, and accordingly,your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
