Dear Building Official:
As Engineer of Record for the above referenced project, it has been brought to my attention that you
have concern that the thickness of the proposed raised step foundation at the location of the walk-in
shower is approximately 4 inches and this situation could have issues with respect to uplift resistance.
It is my opinion that the above stated scenario is acceptable and will not adversely affect uplift resistance
due to windloading.
