The roof and flashing shall be sound, tight, and not have defects that admit rain. Roof drainage shall be adequate to prevent dampness or deterioration in the walls or interior portion of the structure. Roof drains, gutters and downspouts shall be maintained in good repair and free from obstructions. Roof water shall not be discharged in a manner that creates a public nuisance. (rotted soffit) Section 304.4 Structural Members. All structural members shall be maintained free from deterioration, and shall be capable of safely supporting the imposed deal and live loads. (carport structural posts failing creating a hazardous condition and subjecting the carport to possible collapse) This letter requests you comply by replacing all rotted soffit and replacing the structural support/posts required to support the carport within ten (10) days of receipt of this notice. A re-inspection will be done on or after August 12,2011. If the violation is corrected and then recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time specified in this notice this case may be presented to the Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement Board even if the violation has been corrected prior to the board meeting. The Code Enforcement Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty ($250.00) dollars per day for each day the violation is not corrected.
