Dear Ms. Lockwood:
Please be advised,Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement has found the property referenced above to be in
violation of Chapter 17 of the City of Atlantic Beach, Code of Ordinances, Section 17-33 Banner Signs:
VIOLATION
Section 17-33. Banner Signs
(a) The purpose of banner signs shall be to promote special seasonal, civic or community events
that occur on a temporary basis. A sign permit shall not be required for banner signs;
however, all banner signs shall be registered with the City of Atlantic Beach. No banner sign
shall be hung, placed or erected prior to a form as provided by the planning and zoning
department and payment of fees as may be established by the City Commission.
(b) Banner signs may be displayed subject to registration verifying compliance with the
following provisions:
(3) Banner signs shall not contain an advertising message
This letter requests that the noted violations be corrected by removal of any and all banners upon
receipt of this notice.
A re-inspection will be done on or before December 12,2012. If the violation is corrected and then
recurs or if the violation is not corrected by the time specified in this notice this case may be presented to
the Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement Board even if the violation has been corrected prior to the board
meeting. To avoid having this case be referred to the Code Enforcement Board,all listed violations on
this notice must be in compliance on or before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code Enforcemept.
The Board may impose fines up to two hundred fifty($250.00)per day for continuing violations.

Sec. 17-33. - Banner signs.
(a)
The purpose of banner signs shall be to promote special seasonal,civic or community events that

banner signs shall be registered with City of Atlantic Beach. No banner sign shall be hung, placed

pfovisions:
Display of banner signs for any event shall be limited to thirty(30)consecutive or
cumulative days within one(1)calendar year.
(2)
Banner signs shall be limited in size to a maximum of sixty(60)square feet in size.
(3)
Banner signs shall not contain an advertising message.
(4)
Banner signs shall not hang over or extend into rights-of-way.
(5)
Banner signs shall be securely anchored to buildings, poles or suitable structural supports
and shall not be attached to trees, public buildings or structures, utility poles or any type of
utility structure or equipment, including lift stations,fire hydrants and the like.
(6)
Property owner's authorization to install and display such banner sign.
