Dear Ms. Lewis:
The above referenced building permit issued for improvements to your property remains open,
and incomplete creating an unsafe condition on your property. Your permit has expired and the
required guardrails have not been installed as required which creates an unsafe condition. This is
in violation of Section 110.4 of the Florida Building Code to wit:
FLORIDA BUILDING CODE— Section 110.4 Certificate of Completion. A Certificate of
Completion is proof that a structure or system is complete and for certain types of permits is
realeased for use and may be connected to a utility system. This certificate does not grant
authority to occupy a building, such as a shell building, prior to the issuance of a Certificate of
Occupancy. (guardrails not installed as required creating a hazardous and unsafe condition to life
and property)
This letter requests that the noted violations be corrected installing the guardrails in
accordance with the approved plans and permit issued within five (5) days of the receipt of
this notice call for an inspection to verify compliance within ten (10) days of this notice.
A re-inspection will be done on or before March 5, 2012. To avoid having this case be referred
to the Code Enforcement Board, all listed violations on this notice must be in compliance on or
before the date established by Atlantic Beach Code Enforcement. The Board may impose fines
up to two hundred fifty ($250.00) per day for continuing violations. Upon complking the
corrective action(s) required, it is your responsibility to contact Atlanti,� Beac e
Enforcement and arrange for an inspection to verify compliance.
