BACKGROUND: The City of Atlantic Beach 's Lega l Budget for fi scal year 20 I 7 (FY 17) is
$96,000. Following the Gate Hearing, the C ity has incurred $86,835 in
legal expenditures for the year. Legal fees not associated with Gate
Petroleum arc curren tl y averaging $8,260 a month. City Staff is
requesting an increase to the lega l budget of $75.000 to cover est1mated
legal costs for the remainder of FY 17.
BUDGET: Mid -yea r budget modification to transfer$ 75,000 from tl1e Fund Bal ance
to the Legal Services Division.
RECOMMENDATION : To adopt Ordinance NO. 20-16-138 amending the 2015-16 Annual
Budget.

WHEREAS, the City Charter of the City of Atlantic Beach requires that the City
Commission approve all budgetary increases and transfers at the fund level, and
WHEREAS, the nature of budgetary systems and those day-to-day decisions affecting
such budgetary systems require adjustments from time-to-time, and
WHEREAS, the City is amending the operating budget to add net funds totaling $75,000
to cover an estimated increase to legal fees for the balance of the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION ON
BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF ATLANTIC BEACH, FLORIDA, that;
1. The Fiscal Year 2015/2016 Budget to be amended as follows:

2. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
