In response to a field inspection comment in regards to the pull-out strength of the
fasteners, an independent test was conducted in(5)locations. The fastener is a#8 2-3/8"
self-tapping screw made by Grabber Construction Products. The locations tested were in
the center of the smooth area of the metal panel and not at panel overlaps or with metal
stud backing. The test results are as follows:
Location 1: 247
Location 2: 166
Location 3: 224
Location 4: 227
Location 5: 208
Based on a fastener pattern of 12"O.C.vertically and horizontally(typical Wind Devil 2
fastening pattern"C"),this exceeds the requirements for the 135 mph wind load. Please
