The screws are required to protrude%"through the roof sheathing to be rated and the screws in question do not. We cannot approve this roof. There are two other issues: 1) There is a question about this metal roofing installed over existing shingles. 2) The product approval substrate description states"Must be designed in accordance w/Florida Building Code 2014. 1 suggest that you contact the manufacturer and ask them how to resolve these issues. To approve this roof,we need three things: 1) Testing/engineering that the metal roof complies with the FBC and Product Approval requirements. 2) Documentation that this product can be installed over existing shingles and what installation details are required. 3) Documentation that the roof sheathing is nailed to the 2014 FBC standards. We have notified the home owner of these issues. Sincerely, Dan Arlington, CBO i
