BACKGROUND : The City of Atlantic Beach awarded a street sweeping contract to
USA Services Florida, Inc. in October 2012 . Monthly street
sweeping of Atlantic Blvd. and Mayport Road is part of our
maintenance agreement with FDOT, and bi -monthly sweeping of
our City Streets is a requirement of our NPDES ( MS4 ) Permit .
The contractor also sweeps both City Hall and Public Works
parking lots on a bi -monthly basis.
The current contract for street sweeping services under City Bid
No. 1213 -01 expires October 31 , 2016 . The contractor, USA
Services of Florida, Inc. has agreed to renew the contract for the
second of two possible renewals at the current prices. Total cost
for street sweeping services under this contract is $29, 100
annually.
RECOMMENDATION : Extend the contract for one year at the current prices, term being
November 1 , 2016 thru October 31 , 2017.
BUDGET: A total of $30,000 was budgeted in FYI 516 in stormwater account
470-0000-538 -3400.
ATTACHMENTS : Signed letter from USA Services of Florida, Inc. agreeing to the
extension of the contract.

The above referenced contract for Bid 1213-01 expires October 31, 2016. The City would
like to extend the contract for another year, at the current prices. Per bid specifications, this
would be the second of two possible extensions of this contract, term being November 1, 2016
thru October 31, 2017. If acceptable, please sign below and return to my attention at your
earliest convenience.
