This is acceptable provided that the both plies of the double top plate of the 4. lower level wall and the bottom plate of the upper level wall are continuous the full width of the elevator shaft with no plate breaks and extend minimum 48"beyond shaft width in both directions. Upper level bottom plate must be nailed to the lower level double top plate with(2) rows 10d @ 8" O.C., staggered. No additional work is required.
